Child Fund

We exist for children – and their voices and experiences guide everything we do.
ChildFund is a global community of people who care about children and take action to help them grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe. Together we’re creating a world where all children live at their fullest potential at every stage of their lives. That’s why we partner to support children facing challenges no child should have to. As part of ChildFund Alliance, we reach children in 66 countries. Here in the U.S., supporters can sponsor children in 23 countries. We need each other, every single one of us.

HilfsWaise association

Concrete help for orphanages
HilfsWaise eV has made it its mission to support three orphanages in Ethiopia – in Sebeta, Melka Jebedu, and Harar. These three orphanages are under the auspices of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Child & Family Affairs Organisation (EOC-CFAO) of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
The two houses in Sebeta and Melka Jebedu are attached to Orthodox convents. There, the orphans are cared for by nuns who are loving surrogate mothers and who work hard to provide for themselves and the children. The nuns engage in small-scale farming, weaving, baking, and sell some of the food they painstakingly produce to villagers. The Sebeta orphanage usually houses between 150 and 170 girls, while the Melka Jebedu orphanage houses between 80 and 100.
